Bridge of Allan Tombola(added 06 August 2009)
A great big thank you to everyone who contributed to the tombola.
It was a beautiful day and we took £ 617.00 and also raised the profile of the centre with a number of people interested in volunteering.
Well done everyone, we had a great response to our appeal for prizes and any surplus items donated will be used in future fundraising events.

E. McColdrick, NewtongrangeNational Championships 2009(added 14 July 2009)
The Group made its annual journey down to this year's National Championships at Hartpury College, Gloucester. We had three riders qualified - Zoe Fulton, Leanne Peters and Fraser Mathieson. The marked difference this year was that due to the grass sickness situation and lack of transport, we did not take down any of our own horses. We were kindly given three horses (two from Oaklands College and one from Otley), so our thanks go out to the groups.
None of the riders disgraced themselves with Zoe unfortunately stepping out of the arena resulting in an elimination, but after an appeal, she was given a mark and would have finished 4th - not bad for a first timer. Leanne finished 2nd in her class with Fraser receiving a highly commended 7th against very high quality horse/rider combinations.
Next on the agenda for the group is the Special Olympics in Leicester from 24-31 July then working towards the Scottish Dressage Championships, scheduled to be held in October.
Grass Sickness Update(added 29 June 2009)
Over the past two weeks, the centre has lost four of its ponies to the grass sickness disease. This is horrendous news for the centre as it means we have lost 20% of our horse workforce., and 50% of our driving potential. Over the summer, we have had to cancel the driving holiday, reduce class sessions and buy or loan new horses. The means a reduction of income due to these factors, vet fees, staff over- and down-time. This figure represents an lost of income of in the region of £20,000.
Steps are in place for a recovery plan and we have implening an online donation facility to allow people to help us raise the funds lost. Go to our donation page for more information on this and how to donate by cheque.
We would like to say a big thank you to staff, Tina Vernon (our vet), the owners of the horses we have lost as they have gave us horses which done a fantastic job, and to the volunteers who have helped in keeping the horses exercised over the two weeks.
The centre is due to re-open for classes on Monday, 6th July 2009.

Sainsbury's Bag Packs(added 29 June 2009)
Over the course of the year, we have raised an approximate value of £5,000 at our bag packs at Sainsbury's in Stirling. More is due in the future so keep a lookout out and if you can spare some time to help us, please do so.
Regional Dressage 2009(added 29 June 2009)
On the 2nd June, the W&C Regional Dressage Qualifiers took place at the centre. The group entered several competitors in both the qualifying and non-qualifying dressage and handy pony. We had 3 riders qualified for the National Championships in July - Leanne Peters and Zoe Fulton qualified in their class, with Fraser Mathieson receiving an invitation to compete (due to him having a broken ankle). A great day was had and we hope we can repeat the success down south.
