Centre's Newsletter - Spring 2008
Horse News
We currently have three new additions to The Sauchieburn Centre’s team:
- Toby
A stunning 14.1hh chestnut gelding who is already doing many classes and is in the process of learning to drive.- Hugo
A sturdy 14hh bay gelding from Jenny Leggate who is taking classes in his stride and is also learning to drive.- Pabay
Our posh vaulting horse from ‘equibuddy’, he’s 16.3hh and is brilliant for many of our more able riders as well as in lead rein classes!Staff News
ID your staff; look out for a board in the café that will give photo ID of all staff and details of when they work. So if you have any problems, you will know who to ask.
Centre News
During the summer we will be painting and decorating, so look out for notices if you wish to help.
We will be running volunteer sessions throughout the summer as well as taster sessions, so look out for notices!
Regional Dressage Championships 2008
This will be taking place on Tuesday the 3rd of June at The Sauchieburn Centre and we will need lots of help as we have lots of riders taking part. Give your name to a member of staff if you can help out!
Good luck to all the riders who are taking part!!
Volunteer Sessions
Remember these take place on a Thursday and Friday evening, ask a member of staff for details.
Important Health and Safety Information
- No Smoking
Our local Authority Licence requires us to have a NO SMOKING policy on the whole site. If you need to smoke whilst you are here, you will need to do so in your own vehicle. Cigarette ends must not be disposed of in our car parks or down our drains, put them in your own ashtray.- Driveways
Please remember the speed limit in the estate is 15mph, this is for the safety of the horses, riders and estate workers and MUST be adhered to.
Verges – it cost the centre over £300 in shared charges for the repair of the grass verges this winter. If drivers continue to drive on the verges, we will have to recoup this cost through either a penalty charge for driving on the grass or an increase in class fees!
So KEEP OFF THE GRASS!- Dogs
It has been noted that there is an increase in people bringing their dogs on site, we would prefer that you do not bring your dog up but if you have to, it should remain in your car. If you require to walk your dog, it should be walked on one of the tracks away from the centre on a lead.
On no account should dogs be around any of the centre facilities, indoor or outdoor and should not be taken out at the back of classes.
Horses and dogs are not a good mix.- Clothing
Just a wee reminder, gloves must be worn when handling horses.
Strappy tops and vest tops are not suitable to wear around the centre, please use t-shirts with short sleeves.
